How to Verify Website in Google Webmaster Using TXT/CNAME Record

google_webmastertools Unable to verify your website using html file upload and meta tag method? Don’t worry Google offers many other methods to verify your website domain ownership. You can verify your website with domain control panel by adding a TXT or CNAME record.
  • Login to your webmaster tools account
  • Add site and click on “verify site”
  • Now select alternate methods > Domain name Provider
  • Select your Domain name provider from the dropdown list

  • If your domain is hosted with your domain registrar then you can easily verify domain using integrated login but, if your domain is hosted with any other hosting then you have to add TXT record to your Web Hosting provider DNS manager
  • In second situation use the “Add TXT/CNAME record option” and copy the TXT/CNAME record
  • Now login to your domain hosting control panel
  • Locate DNS records
  • Select domain to display DNS options
  • Here add a new TXT/CNAME record and save the option
  • Now go back to your webmaster verification page and hit the verify button to verify
Verification may be failed in first attempt because sometime DNS records take time to update
In this condition you should try after a few minutes
